The books and movies writer will be providing content on books and movies relevant to travel, historical fiction, women's news, women in the world, biographies, charities and causes and environment and nature.

These kinds of books may be familiar to you: Eat, Pray, Love, Wild Swans, Shanghai Girls, Half the Sky, The Kite Runner, The Alchemist, White Tiger, Memoirs of a Geisha, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Last Empress.

Obviously you are not expected to know everything about these topics or have read all this books but an understanding of these will be a great start.

4 X articles @ $30 per month. Ongoing role. Paid monthly.

This role will suit writers who:

- have a love of travel and the exploring world
- are looking to grow their portfolio of travel or lifestyle writing
- want to specialize as a books and movies writer

- may be an expat or someone who has lived / is lived abroad
- have travelled extensively and have a keen interest in reading

- want to post regular articles for a growing and inspired community of readers
- need a reference for future writing positions and proof of being able to commit to regular articles
feedback (if wanted!) on how to grow as a writer / editor
- the chance to be promoted to an editor after six months to manage your own writers and content
- are excited to join a team of 12 international writers based in locations all over the world

Role:

- 4 articles per month, (1 each week), 375 – 500 words per article
- articles should cover the 2 specified topics, (books and movies)
- writers will come up with their own article ideas covering their section and the topics
- upload the article with a picture to the website via wordpress
- add internal links to your other articles
- post a link to the article on your own social networks; Facebook and twitter are a must; personal blog, tumbler, stumble upon, LinkedIn, etc are a bonus
- add 4 comments per month to other articles on the site and respond to comments on your articles
- add 4 comments / questions to the forums

Requirements:

- a laptop / own computer – this a remote position
- an active twitter and Facebook account – any other active social networks will be looked on favorably
know how to upload to wordpress (if you are not familiar please say in the application and we will provide training videos)
- know how to source images from Creative Commons on flickr or other picture websites – again please say if you are not familiar and training will be provided
- six months commitment to contributing to the site
- proof of how well you understand the topic – please say briefly in the application how often you read, what books you have read recently, what you reccommend, what you want to read next
- a love of travel, exploring the world, hotels, talking about travel, talking about the world, a concern for some of the issues in the world. Your passion should shine through in your writing!
- a google / gmail account. We will be using these to share ideas and documents. Setting one up is free.
- ability to write content that appeals directly to our readers. Our readers stay in medium- to high-end accommodation and like to treat themselves. We will never cover budget hotels. They are educated, intelligent women who like to know what is happening in the world. All content should appeal directly to them.
